DIGITAL MAPPING AND GPS
Tele Atlas® was a pioneer in the field of digital mapping,
and held a commanding market position
in the in-dash automobile market
for high-end mapping systems.
The disruption of mass-market mobile devices
was becoming visible on the horizon,
requiring a significant broadening
of the product portfolio,
as well as new distribution channels,
such as "big box" retailers, to reach that mass market.
As global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO),
we drove a rapid expansion of product management,
demand-focused marketing,
and channel development,
all key to closing a $650 million-plus secondary offering,
and to the company’s later acquisition
for $2.5 billion by TomTom.
RETAIL GROCERY
In conjunction with our friends at Zee Jay Digital,
we conducted an analysis of marketing materials design
and fulfillment for a major international grocery retailer
(we can't name them due to our NDA).

Having grown through acquisition,
the firm was spending too much time, warehouse space
and money on Point of Purchase (POP)
and other store signage.
​
We identified as much as
$7.5 million in savings over four years,
conducted an extensive RFP process
to find an industry-leading partner,
and laid out the technology architecture
for the business transformation
and marketing automation solution.
HIGHER EDUCATION -
COLLEGE ADMISSIONS
With Driving Value Solutions' principal
serving as consulting Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO),
Major Decision is creating a new category
to disrupt the college admissions advisory space.
Major Decision is a conversation platform that allows
high school students and families
to connect directly with current college students
as a key part of the college admissions process.

We've managed the brand development process
and the buildout of the company's web presence
and transaction platform,
and are currently driving the
marketing and sales efforts for this startup.
FOOD MANUFACTURING AND FULFILLMENT
In a joint project with our friends at Tukaiz,
we completed an analysis of sales materials and
product sample warehousing
and fulfillment for a Fortune 400 global food manufacturer
(we can't name them due to our NDA).

This beloved brand has been in business for over 120 years,
and has grown its offerings
organically and through acquisition.
As a result, sales fulfillment took place
in various locations, and was hobbled
by a 20-plus year old Web application
and a reliance on many manual processes.
​
We interviewed the current users and
managers of the outmoded system,
documented the
"as is" conditions, and designed a modern,
SaaS-based replacement that will
relieve a tremendous burden on field sales
teams and distribution staff, and
ensure full utilization of Point of Sale (PoS)
materials throughout the US supply chain.
